Already known in Medici Florence, cantucci owe their name to the cut in the "canto".
Handcrafted with fine flour, egg white, and Apulian almonds, they're even more special today because Sciacchetrà La Polenza is among their most prized ingredients. With its hints of apricot and candied citron, its Mediterranean notes of eucalyptus, myrtle, and sweet spices, the noble passito wine permeates and diffuses throughout the cantucci dough.
Enjoy them accompanied by a glass of Sciacchetrà itself or, as the custom opposed by purists but rooted in popular custom dictates, "pucciandoli"
and that is, by soaking them in the same.
